mind-soul conversations

Once in a while I do this exercise of asking questions to my inner voice. Sometimes she answers immediately, other times she is rushed out by the mind. But this always brings me some clarity.

“- What does it feel like when you look for binge eating?

A need.

- A need of what?

Fulfillment.

- Why do you not feel fulfilled?

Never stop looking.

- What happens if you do?

Discomfort.

- Where does this discomfort come from?

Within and with myself.

- You don't love yourself?

I do.

- Even when you stop looking?

Yes.

- So, where this discomfort comes from?

Outside.

- Do you feel pushed inside from the outside?

Yes.

- What do you find in food?

Distraction, brief pleasure.

- Do you lack pleasure?

Joy.

- What kind of joy?

One I cannot remember anymore.

- And do you need a distraction from what?

The pressure.

- Instead of distraction, what other things might serve you?

Love. Unconditional love.

- Love would alleviate your suffering? Your discomfort?

I don't know.

- You need to learn how to love yourself?

I need to be loved. Unconditionally.”

This was a profound conversation where mind and soul (or inner voice, or whatever name you prefer) were both present. Later became very clear that is not my soul that needs to be love.

The soul is love.
